CDAA recovers bodies of husband and wife from overflowing wadi

Muscat: A husband and wife reportedly died after they were swept away by an overflowing wadi in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali on Wednesday.
According to the Directorate of Civil Defence and Ambulance in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, three vehicles carrying eight people were washed away in Wadi Al Batha in the wilayat of Jalaan, on Wednesday.
The rescue and search teams could successfully rescue six people.
The authority earlier said in an online statement that two other people were missing, and the search is going on to find them but after a while, the authority announced that the two missing citizens, unfortunately, were found dead.
Meanwhile, overflowing wadis have cut off roads in some parts of Al Sharqiyah Governorate after torrential rains that lashed the wilayat. The weather forecasters at Oman Met Office have predicted that rains will continue until Saturday, with the highest rainfall expected to occur in Al Sharqiyah North and South and Al Dakhiliyah.
