Firstpass is a gateway to better healthcare in Oman

Firstpass, the first unified patient experience and engagement platform, has been launched in the Sultanate of Oman in partnership with Vectramind Corporation. The platform is designed to focus on patients' interactions and experiences at every touchpoint of their journey, starting long before they need care and continuing long after their clinical interactions are over.

Firstpass, launched by Oman Data Park (ODP), the Sultanate of Oman's first IT-managed and cloud services provider, in partnership with Vectramind Corporation, includes various dimensions that focus on providing patient convenience, speed in providing care, attention to patient preferences, easy access to medical information, self-service, systems capable of capturing real-time feedback, and integration with EMR systems as required.

Firstpass offers a variety of features that focus on improving the patient experience at every touchpoint across the care continuum. This improves overall patient satisfaction, which leads to better medical outcomes, patient retention, improved patient referrals, optimised use of facilities, and return on investment.

In his statement about the launch of this health platform, Engineer Maqbool al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park, stated: 'We are pleased to launch the Firstpass - Unified Patient Experience & Engagement Platform, which is built on agile modelling that simplifies the transformation of the health services sector towards a sustainable sector in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This platform also constitutes a quantum leap in the healthcare sector as it focuses on achieving the five principles of patient care.'

The principles include providing opportunities for patients to speak to experts regarding the disease they suffer from, empowering patients and letting them be part of the decision-making process for their treatment and procedures, establishing trust and communicating with empathy, reducing waiting time during their visit and asking them for their feedback, treating patients with respect and personalising their care experience as well as being transparent in sharing information with patients and their families.

CP Vinodh, Director for Healthcare Solutions at Vectramind, believes that 'understanding patient experience is a key step in moving toward patient-centred care that is respectful of and responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values.' The Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered and machine learning system enables patients to have a smooth journey at the hospital with lesser wait allowing hospital management and staff to make the right decisions at the right time to ensure their patients' concerns are addressed immediately.

'Our partnership with ODP will enable the provision of an excellent value proposition to healthcare providers in Oman with patient-experience-as-a-service coming from the secured cloud infrastructure provided by ODP,' Vinodh added.

ODP, the Sultanate of Oman's first managed cybersecurity and cloud services provider, plays an integral role in supporting digital transformation through an all-in-one solution of computing; cloud computing, data storage, networking, web hosting, and network security services. It also offers the Sultanate of Oman's first Artificial Intelligence ready cloud infrastructure – Nebula AI powered by Nvidia. More details about their services can be found at www.omandatapark.com.
