Farmers in Adam begin harvesting 63 acres of wheat

Adam: Agriculture and Water Resources Department at the Wilayat of Adam in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah has begun harvesting wheat. It is expected that the amount of production will reach approximately 53 tonnes on an area of 63 acres.

Sulaiman Salim al Asmi, Director of the Agriculture and Water Resources Department in the Wilayat of Adam, said: “With the start of the wheat-growing season, the department distributed wheat seeds of local varieties to 14 farmers, with the support system established by the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, since the wheat crop constitutes a good annual return for Omani farms. It also represents an additional value for the food security of the Sultanate of Oman along with the rest of the other crops.”

The cultivation of wheat in the Wilayat of Adam increases every year, thanks to abundance of water and the validity of the soil.
