Ministry of Tourism participates in Cruise Global Exhibition in USA

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT), is taking part at the Seatrade Cruise Global Exhibition held in Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

Meeting with the operating companies of international cruise ships and decision-makers is one of the goals the ministry is chasing down during this participation, as the exhibition has witnessed the attendance of CEOs, service providers of the cruise ships and yachts sector, representatives of governments and tourism companies and many media personnel.

In the Sultanate of Oman, particularly, and the region, generally, the cruise ship season thrives during the seven-month-long winter tourism season from October to April each year. According to the ministry, Sultan Qaboos Port, Salalah Port and Khasab Port have seen 77 cruise ship visits ferrying over 85,000 tourists over the past year.

As many as 100,000 tourists from all over the world are expected to visit Oman’s three main ports this year, constituting more than 142 visits.
