Theatre Group Muscat announces new play

Theatre Group Muscat, a group for people who love theatre, has announced its 7th drama on World Drama Day on March 27 at the Talent Space in the CBD area.

The play, which makes use of both amateur and professional stage mediums, is happening in Oman after three years of hiatus, although there was a drama fest organised by Bhavalaya, a platform for promotion of art and culture.

Titled 'Safalamee Yathra' means 'Fruitful Journey', the drama is all set for the maiden stage on December 15, according to the organisers of TGM.

'It gives us immense pleasure to announce our 7th stage play, Safalamee Yathra on this auspicious day, World Drama Day,' said Ansar Ibrahim, director of the drama, who has successfully staged 6 other classy plays since 2015.

Written by Jayan Thirumana, the play has a variety of plots and background settings designed by award-winning craftsman Sujathan Master.

Touted to be a mirror to the present day developments of the world, the play is an attempt to portray the diversity in life on a train journey which begins from the south and ends in the north.

The play will have nearly 25 artistes from across the breadth and width of the country giving life to different characters.

TGM manager Manoharan Guruvayoor, Sudha Raghunath and Adv Gireesh were present at the press meet.
