Dr Manikam elected Indian Schools BoD board chairman

MUSCAT: Dr Sivakumar Manikam will continue to be the chairman of the Board of Directors (BoD) of 21 Indian Schools in Oman.
He was elected after securing 13 votes out of 14 in the elections held on Monday.
The new 15-member BoD will assume office on April 1. The tenure will be two years.
Those representatives of the parents elected in the elections held on January 21, PP Nitheesh Kumar, PTK Shameer, Krishnendu, Dr Sivakumar Manikkam, Syed Salman besides the embassy-nominated members plus 2 representatives each from Indian School Wadi Al Kabir and Ghubra, and 1 each representative of Indian School Muscat and Darsait and an educational adviser from the new BoD. They cast ballots in favour of the chairman except PP Nidheesh. However, the educational adviser doesn't have voting rights.
