Oman-UAE railway: Bids invited for the prequalification process 

 
Muscat: Oman and Etihad Rail Company, the developer and operator of the railway network connecting the Sultanate and the United Arab Emirates, has invited specialized contractors to apply for the prequalification for tendering of the civil works

The potential Contractors must demonstrate individually or in JV/Consortium that they have the necessary resources and required expertise to meet the requirements as follows: To be a focal company or a JV/Consortium led by a local company registered in Oman or UAE to deliver the packages in the relevant country and with recent experience executing projects of a similar size and nature (earthworks. structures. tunnels. freight facilities. roads and depots. etc).

The applications must have design and build experience for on-time completion of projects and to the required quality

The Prequalification documents will be available for purchase and download through an e-Payment services gateway from between March 13, 2023, and March 27, 2023, at 6 pm for a non-refundable amount of RO5.240 or AED50.000, excluding VAT.

Earlier speaking to the Observer, Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud al Maawali, 'We expect by the end of this year or early next to award the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for the Oman-UAE railway project. 'As such, the actual work on the ground will take a year or so from the awarding of the EPC.'

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development said that it would compensate 521 affected cases affected by North al Batinah and Al Buraimi within six months as part of the activities involving the Oman Railway project as per mechanisms approved by the government.
