Salam Air flight from Chittagong to Muscat makes emergency landing

Muscat: Salam Air flight from Chittagong to Muscat (Airbus A321-253NX) on Thursday made an emergency landing in Nagpur Airport in India after a smoke detector in the cargo area sent alarm.
The flight was landed at the Nagpur airport for inspection as a precautionary measure. The flight resumed the trip to Muscat with all passengers after confirming the false alarm.
'SalamAir flight from Chattogram (Chittagong ) to Muscat experienced a technical issue due to an alarm of detection of smoke in the Cargo Hold. As a precautionary measure,
the flight was diverted to Nagpur airport. Immediately after, the aircraft was checked by the emergency and engineering team, and no fire was detected. The flight departed Nagpur airport, and all passengers and crew were returned back to Muscat Airport', said the airlines in a statement.
