Possible weather disruption from upper trough

Oman Met Office’s weather forecast has predicted that the Sultanate of Oman’s atmosphere might be affected by a short wave from the upper trough, starting on Monday evening until Thursday.
“From February 27 to March 2, there could be an impact on the weather conditions due to the upper air trough. It might cause cloud advection over the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. There are also chances for isolated rains, as well as convective clouds over Al Hajar Mountains that could generate thunderstorms which could also result in downdraft wind,” explained the weather forecaster at the Directorate General of Oman Meteorology.
The temperature is not expected to go down as the trough is not deep and is currently only in one layer.
Otherwise, the general weather forecast from Oman Met Office states mainly clear skies with high clouds advection over the northern governorates with late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog patches over parts of South Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta, Al Dhahirah and Dhofar governorates and parts of the coastal areas of Oman Sea.
Expected winds along the coastal areas of the Oman Sea are expected to be northeasterly to easterly to northeasterly, light to moderate. While over the rest of the governorates, the wind will be southerly to southeasterly, light to moderate and occasionally fresh over the desert or open areas.
Sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate along the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea with a maximum wave height of 1.5 metres and slight along the rest of the coasts with a maximum wave height of 1.25 metres.
Caution alert is for dust rising over desert and open areas and possible reduction in horizontal visibility during fog.
