Cooperation pact inked to draft governance guide for NGOs in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development and Oman Centre for Governance and Sustainability on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement to prepare a guide for the governance of associations and civil societies in Oman.
The agreement stipulates that Oman Centre for Governance and Sustainability shall cooperate with the ministry’s specialists on studying legal and regulatory gaps and analysing the current status of the civil entities. The process involves the participation of all stakeholders to devise criteria and principles of governance. The draft will be used to compile a guide to be implemented in later stages.
The agreement was signed by Shamsa Ahmed al Hosani, Director General of Planning and Studies at the Ministry of Social Development, and Sayyid Hamid Sultan al Busaidi, Executive Director of Oman Centre for Governance and Sustainability.
