Oman to host international semiconductors summit

 
MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, will host the International Semiconductors Executive Summit on February 22-23.

The summit will bring together a number of firms operating in semiconductors and e-chips from around the world.

Dr Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, said that organizing of the summit comes as a translation of the directives of the National Programme for Digital Economy and in line with Oman Vision 2040 goals related to the development of the digital economy.

The ministry aims to place the Sultanate of Oman as an attractive hub for investments in the communications and information technology sector. The ministry also strives to attract international firms specialized in semiconductors and electronic chips to invest in the Sultanate to enhance economic diversification, contribute to GDP growth, and provide job opportunities for nationals. — ONA
