Al Bashayer festival to offer 20 cars and 15 icons

Muscat: With the support of HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, Al Bashayer Square Committee for Arabian Camels revealed the details of the sixth edition of Al Bashayer annual festival 2023, which will be held on February 13 to 18, at Al Bashayer Square in the Wilayat of Adam.
Dr Abdullah bin Salem al Junaibi, Director of the Al Bashayer Square for Arabian Camels, unveiled the event details during the media conference that was held on Sunday in Al Bashayer Square.
The sixth edition of the festival will continue for six days with Omani and GCC participants, competing in 74 rounds in different categories to win the value prizes, 20 value cars and 15 icons including the golden and silver swords.
The first day, February 13, will be for ‘Hagayeg' category, two years old, for 4 km. Eighteen races will be in the morning with cash prizes for the top ten. In the afternoon, there will be six main races with car prizes for the winner and cash prizes for the top ten.
The second day, February 14, was allocated for the ‘Lagaya’ category, three years old, for 5 km divided into 15 races in the morning time with cash prize for the top ten. Five main races will start in the afternoon, five cars for the winners and cash prize up to tenth place.
The third day, February 15, will be for ‘Yathaa' category, 4 years old, for 6 km race. Eleven races will be in the morning with cash prizes for the top ten. Four main races will be in the afternoon, the winners will have cars and cash prizes for the top ten.
Fourth day morning, February 16, will be for ‘Thanaya’ category, 5 years old, for a distance of 8 km. Four races are allocated for ‘Al Hawl’ category, 6 years and above. Both categories will have cash prize for the top ten.
The afternoon competitions will be for human riders, two races will be for 1,500 metres and the main race will be for 12 km. The winner will receive a SUV car and cash prizes for the top ten.
The concluding ceremony will be held on the final day, February 18, afternoon. The day include 4 main races for 8 km for old category -- two races will be for individuals with SUV cars prizes for the winners and two races will be for organisations. The winner in the fourth race will have the golden sword and SUV car (Lexus), while the third race winner will get silver and (Land Cruiser).
