Transom Handling, Labour Ministry launch ‘Maseer’ programme

Transom Handling, a subsidiary of Oman Airports, launched its training-for-employment (TFE) programme, 'Maseer', in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour yesterday under the auspices of Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidi, Under-Secretary of Human Resources.

“We are pleased today to partner with the Ministry of Labour to introduce the Maseer programme, which is in line with the company's vision to support and empower the youth of Oman to move towards their goals,” shared Transom Handling Executive Director Saud Abdulaziz al Azizi.

“This a unique programme, as you all know we are in the existing mode of Covid-19 [pandemic] and therefore so many trends have been introduced to the aviation sector where we have to be always ready. That’s why we have agreed with the Ministry of Labour to accept a hundred job seekers at this stage to be developed and trained to be part of the aviation sector within two years,” he added.

The two-year training programme will be divided between guest services and other technical skills related to the aviation sector.

“I think this is a national obligation for all government owned, or semi-government owned companies. And we believe that we are part of this community and we thought of adding value and contributing to the society by introducing such programmes in association with the Ministry of Labour,” shared Al Azizi.

Under-Secretary of Human Resources of the Ministry of Labour, Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidi, reaffirmed the Ministry’s efforts in combating unemployment, 'Through this partnership, we seek to strengthen the efforts of private sector institutions and to support their endeavours and national contributions in providing job seekers with the opportunity to prove their existence.”
