Foreign minister delivers lecture about Oman-Hungary relations at Budapest

 

Budapest: Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi delivered a lecture at the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) here on Thursday as part of his official visit to the Republic of Hungary. The lecture dealt with relations and various aspects of cooperation between Oman and Hungary.

Sayyid Badr commended the agreements and memorandums of understanding that were signed between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Hungary in various fields, including investments.

In his lecture, Sayyid Badr spoke about Oman’s efforts in combating climate change and its aspiration to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The lecture also touched on Oman’s policies for economic diversification in accordance with Oman Vision 2040, as well as opportunities for upgrading joint cooperation with Hungary.

Sayyid Badr also elaborated on Oman’s foreign policy. He underlined Oman’s firm stance on current regional and international issues and global challenges, noting that Oman advocates consistency with international law and supports global efforts.

Sayyid Badr stressed the need to resort to dialogue and negotiation as a means of resolving conflicts and settling differences between countries. He underscored the significance of international cooperation in this respect.
