A charity exhibition for used books, organized by College of Economics and Political Science, concluded in Muscat on Saturday.

The proceeds of the three-day exhibition, held at the Mall of Oman, will be allocated to contribute to building the largest complex for orphaned children in the Sultanate of Oman. Compared to previous years, the exhibition had a large collection of 16,000 books in both Arabic and English.

It also had separate stalls for novels, Islamic law, children, culture, economics, political sciences, medicine and health sciences, and human development.

According to organizers, the exhibition was also aimed at making people read, taking part in volunteer activities, and preserving books.

Books were collected from different regions in the country. Speaking to the Observer, a volunteer said, “We had both Omani and expatriate visitors showing interest at the large collection of books on display, which is also for a noble cause.”
