Workshop discusses social media platforms

The role of social media was discussed at a training workshop on 'Analysing social media platforms' on Wednesday.

The five-day workshop, organised by the Ministry of Information, concludes on Monday. The workshop saw broad participation of media people from various government units.

Anas Mohammed, Head of the Analysis Department at the Bahrain National Contact Centre and founder of the Bahrain Gate, gave a presentation which familiarised the participants who are responsible for the communication platforms of the various entities.

The workshop provided the participants with theoretical and practical aspects of social media.

The participants discussed the strengths and weaknesses of social media in achieving the desired goals. The workshop also analysed the negative, positive and neutral impact of the platforms and how to anticipate questions and answers before and after creating media campaigns.

It touched upon several points, including the concept of analysis, types and variables, analysing the platforms digitally using sites and skills, analysing expectations for the negative, positive and neutral impact on the platform of the entity, ways to anticipate questions and answers, as well as presenting practical experiences with risks and crises and how to overcome them.
