Oman's first official advertising agency ‘Izdihar’ launched

 
The Commercial Department of the Ministry of Information on Monday celebrated the launch of ‘Izdihar Agency’, the first official advertising agency in the Sultanate of Oman, during the first advertising forum held at the W Hotel- Muscat under the auspices of Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in the presence of Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information, and a number of high-level officials.

The agency looks to provide media and advertising services at the local and global levels and keep pace with the variables of the advertising market.

The forum was organized to strengthen the partnership between the ministry and various private sector institutions in Oman by providing media and advertising services and benefiting from the ministry’s services through its visual, audio, and print channels, besides electronic platforms.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion stressed that the launch of the ‘Izdihar’ agency came at a very appropriate time to organize advertising work between companies, institutions, and various media channels to get the best type of advertising at competitive prices.

Mohammed bin Said al Balushi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Information for Radio and Television, indicated that the launch of the ‘Izdihar’ agency would be the beginning of an upcoming advertising market to provide the ministry with many advertisements that will contribute to increased revenues.

Fatima bint Muhammad al Kalbani, Director of the Commercial Department at the Ministry of Information, said: “This forum is the first one for the advertising market in the Sultanate of Oman. It was adopted by the ministry as it is the media umbrella for content to which advertising belongs. This comes within the aim of promoting and developing the advertising market, whether in terms of organization or content.” She said that this department serves as a link between advertisers and the ministry.

The Business Department has already gained experience in handling all kinds of radio, press, and TV advertising campaigns, both traditional and digital. She added that ‘Izdihar’ is the first advertising agency in Oman that derives its message from the Presidency of Oman Vision 2040 in investing in the advertising field and the vision of the Ministry of Information in providing highly efficient advertising services. It provides a channel with integrated marketing communications through a single point of contact on all channels for the advertisers.

The advertiser can manage campaigns through ‘Izdihar,’ as it allows the advertiser to design campaigns with many options that the agency has, whether TV, radio reports, advertisements, sponsorships, coverage, and photography of the advertiser’s website, as well as the production of advertising content and the management of public relations. ‘Izdihar’ is the first advertising agency in the Sultanate of Oman that derives its message from the Presidency of Oman Vision 2040 in investing in the advertising field and the vision of the Ministry of Information in providing highly efficient advertising services. During the forum, the Ministry of Information signed eight agreements with a number of private sector institutions, at a total value of approximately RO 400,000, to benefit from the media and advertising services provided by the ministry. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef felicitated the top 10 companies that posted the largest number of advertisements via the ministry’s channels this year.
