Suhar Festival draws over 145k visitors

SUHAR: Suhar Festival is witnessing a large turnout at Suhar Recreation Centre with visitor count exceeding 145,000 since its outset on November 18.
Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of North Batinah and head of the festival’s organizing committee said: “ We are planning to place Suhar Festival among the major events in the Sultanate of Oman by linking it to local investments. We are promoting the festival as one of the most vital and attractive investments.”
Speaking to ONA, Al Kindi noted that the organizing committee has drawn up a programme for the National Day holidays with more than 35 events and activities that match the tastes of all segments of the festival-goers have been planned. Those include 15 events at the heritage village and productive family exhibition, 12 events of external entertaining programmes, 8 events at the children’s theatre, screening of the world cup matches, music and singing and fine arts exhibitions.
The governor of North Batinah affirmed that the objectives set by the organizing committee have been realized successfully including providing temporary jobs for national job-seekers as well as offering suitable opportunities for the productive families to market and promote their products. — ONA
