To expand its fueling service offerings for local and regional customers, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) has signed an agreement with Taif Altmayz for General Trading to build the first top-loading station in Duqm.
The new station will also feature a strategic distribution Center for OOMCO’s lubricants and the first OOMCO Maximo and Optimo Swift Center for car and truck care. The agreement was signed by Tarik Mohammed Al Junaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Oil Marketing Company, and Imad Salim Al-Bahri, Chief Executive Officer of Taif Altmayz for General Trading, at OOMCO’s head office.
Expected to be operational in Q1 2023, the station will offer its services from the Duqm Light Industrial Area according to the latest safety and security standards, and pursuant to the stringiest regulations and specifications. Part of the company’s long-term strategy to transform Oman’s fuel industry, the contract complements its existing operations at the strategically significant Duqn industrial Areas, Free Zone & Port of Duqm, where it launched its bunker fuel terminal in late 2021 to serve the international shipping market.
“Bringing the first specialized top-loading diesel fuel tanker station to Duqm will maximize bulk fuel supply to our customers in Oman and the region looking for a convenient, reliable, and efficient fuel supply for their operations. In addition, we always pride ourselves for having a deep understanding of the importance of adhering to the laws and requirements related to the safe storage and handling of bulk fuel alongside its economic and environmental impact on us and our customers’ operations,” said Tarik Mohammed Al Junaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Oil Marketing Company.” He added, “We value our partnership with Taif Altmayz for General Trading and look forward to seeing this project go online as planned early next year.”
“The new top-loading station in Duqm will provide a consistent supply of diesel stock, which promises to stimulate industrial and economic development projects,” said Imad Salim Khalfan al Bahri, Chief Executive Officer of Taif Altmayz for General Trading. “This partnership with OOMCO aligns with our strategy of contributing to a resilient energy sector in Oman and we look forward to further nurturing this collaboration in the upcoming period.”
The agreement is in line with OOMCO’s direction to further invest in the small and medium bulk fuel market, increasing the company's market share. In addition, the new station will provide a modern lubricants service center for the commercial business community. With a focus on the development of strategic partnerships and offering high-quality services to all its customers, the company aims to position itself among the top Three fuel marketers in the GCC by 2027.
