OEF concludes second showjumping event in Barka

Oman Equestrian Federation (OEF) organised the second training of showjumping competitions for the season 2022-23, on the Olympic field at Al Rahba Farm in the Wilayat of Barka.
Nearly 100 horses participated in the second training competitions, distributed in five categories, the junior category 1 at the height of 70 cm, and the junior category 2 at hurdles height of 90 cm, the junior category 3 at the height of 100 cm, the junior category at the hurdles height of 110 cm, and the intermediate category at a height of 120 cm. The jockeys and horses of government cavalry units and private stables competed in this competition, and the competition started at four o’clock afternoon until nine o’clock in the evening.
On the other hand, recently the Royal Horse Racing Club (RHRC) announced the programme of horse racing for 2022-23 season. The season will see 20 races at the Al Rahba track in Barka, North Al Batinah Governorate. The events include the National Day races, the Omani derby and the final race.
While the RHRC completed all preparations for the horse racing season 2022-2023, at Al Rahba race track in Barka. The first race will be held on Saturday which include eight rounds -- six rounds for purebred Arabian horses and two rounds for hybrid horses.
The first race is ‘Seeb’ race for purebred Arabian horses (for local production horses) for a distance of 1,200m, the second race is ‘Al Khoudh’ race for purebred Arabian horses for a distance of 1,200m, the third race is ‘Al Mawaleh’ race for hybrid horses for a distance of 1,200m, the fourth race is ‘Al Hail’ race for hybrid for 1,200m, the fifth race is ‘Al Maabela’ race for purebred Arabian horses for 1,600m, the sixth race is ‘Al Rusayl’ race for Arabian horses for 1,600m, the seventh round is ‘Al Sharadi’ race for Arabian horses for a distance of 1,600m, and the eighth round for ‘Al Manama’ race for purebred Arabian horses for a distance of 1,800 metres.
