Oman’s Embassy in Tokyo opens Yamanashi Jewelry Exhibition

Tokyo: Acting in cooperation with Yamanashi district, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Tokyo opened the “Yamanashi Jewellery Exhibition” to mark the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Oman and Japan.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Princess Tsuguko and attended by government officials, Japan MPs and heads of diplomatic missions in Japan.

In a speech on the occasion, Dr Mohammed Said al Busaidi, valued the existing cooperation between Oman’s embassy and Yamanashi district. He hoped that the exposition will portray the cultural aspects of Oman.

On his turn, Kotaro Nagasaki, Governor of Yamanashi, hailed the efforts undertaken by Oman’s Embassy in holding the exhibition and featuring Omani jewellery. He wished cooperation between the two sides would continue to gain grounds.

The exhibition comprised more than 90 Japanese jewellery and Omani gold and silver artefacts demonstrating antiqueness, traditional Omani cultural elements—like gold and silver works, as well as a video clip on Omani tourism attractions and landmarks.
