Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has asked people to ignore messages claiming that their bank accounts have been blocked.

'Recently fraudulent messages entitling the logos of official entities and local banks have been circulating, claiming that 'your bank account will be frozen for security reasons. Thus, it is urged not to share the details of their bank cards to individuals or organizations to avoid being a victim of cyber fraud,' ROP said.

A large of customers have been sharing and reporting about regularly getting these messages from unknown sources.
