Al Oruba face Fanja in HM Cup Round of 32

Four-time winners Sur will meet Al Bashayer in the His Majesty’s Cup 2022-23 championship Round of 32 while Oman club will meet Ahli Sidab in a tight derby of capital city.
Defending champions Al Seeb, Al Rustaq, Al Nasr and Dhofar confirmed their place in Round of 16. Seeb will face a tough challenge in the next stage of the coveted cup as they will meet Al Nasr in a tough clash. Salalah giants Dhofar will take on the winners of Al Suwaiq vs Majees. Al Rustaq will play against the winners of Bidiyah vs Bahla.
In the other matches, Muscat will host Al Ittihad in Muscat while Al Musannah will face off Al Ittifaq in the same round. In other interesting matches of the knockout stage, Al Oruba will face Fanja while Al Suwaiq take on Majees. First division club, Al Shabab, will play against Nizwa. The Al Buraimi representative will meet Ibri while Saham will take on Al Wahda. At the southern Batinah tight fixture, Al Khabourah will face off Suhar and Bidiyah will play against Bahla.
The draw for the top domestic football championship in the Sultanate of Oman was announced in a glittering event under auspices of HH Sayyid Nader bin Al Julanda al Said in presence of Shaikh Salim al Wahaibi, Chairman of Oman Football Association (OFA) at Hormoz Grand hotel on Tuesday night. The draw ceremony was attended by top officials and dignitaries.
This edition of His Majesty’s football Cup championship will feature participation of 28 clubs including: Seeb, Oman club, Al Suwaiq, Al Rustaq, Suhar, Al Nahda, Al Bashayer, Bahla, Al Oruba, Sur, Dhofar, Al Nasr, Al Ittihad, Al Musannah, Muscat, Al Mudhaibi, Al Ittifaq, Nizwa, Saham, Al Wahda, Ibri, Al Shabab, Al Khabourah, Majees, Fanja, Salalah, Ahli Sidab and Bidiyah.
For the first time, the competition committee at OFA decided to have one draw only as the path of draw is clear and all the winners will know the opponent teams for the forthcoming rounds. The qualification will start on October 14 while round 16 encounters will be scheduled on October 27 and 28. The quarterfinals will be played in knockout stage while the first and second leg matches will be implemented from semifinals.
