The weather forecast issued by Oman Met Office stated that there are chances of low clouds forming in the coastal areas overlooking the Sea of Oman. Scattered light rains, low clouds and fog formation over parts of the coastal areas overlooking the Arabian Sea are expected through Sunday, Monday and Tuesday this week.
Low clouds intensified on parts of the coasts of South Al Sharqiyah and Dhofar, and clouds of varying heights spread over parts of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates on Saturday.
Fahud, Samayil and Al Buraimi recorded the highest temperature with a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius, while Jabal Shams, Qairoon Hairiti and Jabal Qamar recorded the lowest temperature -- 21 degrees Celsius -- at night.
During the weekend, active northwesterly winds caused high temperatures, dust rising, and a decrease in horizontal visibility over Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah and Al Dakhiliyah governorates.
As per the weather summary for the next three days, cloud activity and chances of rain of varying intensity and thunderstorms, accompanied by active downward winds, over Al Hajar Mountains and neighbouring areas are expected during the afternoon and evening.
The height of the sea wave on the coasts of the Sea of Oman and the coasts of the Musandam Governorate on Sunday and Monday is to have a maximum height of 1.5 -2. 0 metres, while the waves are medium-rough on the coasts of the Arabian Sea with 2.5 metres.
There are chances of dust and dust rising due to active wind movement in parts of Al Dhahirah, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates by Monday.
Moderate to rough sea along Arabian Sea coasts with a maximum wave height of 3.0 metres and moderate sea over the western coasts of Musandam with a maximum wave height of 2.0 metres are expected. The impact is likely to be slight along the rest of coasts, with a maximum wave height of 1.0 metres.
The Civil Aviation Authority has issued caution stating that horizontal visibility may reduce during fog and rain in addition to the alert on moderate to rough sea along the Arabian Sea coast.
