Al Riyami crowns champion for singles TP competition; Royal cavalry clinches teams title

As part of underway activities of the Equestrian Week in Dhofar, Oman Equestrian Federation launched on Tuesday Dhofar tent pegging Championship on the equestrian field in Salalah under the auspices of Salem bin Madin Salem Fadel, the chief guest, in presence of Ahmed bin Saif al Abri, Secretary of Oman Equestrian Federation, officials and a number of people interested in equestrian sports.
The event featured participation of ten teams from different government units including Royal Cavalry, the Cavalry Police Command, the Nameer Equestrian School which participated in two teams, the Royal Guard of Oman Cavalry, Dhofar Equestrian Committee, Al Mudhaibi Equestrian Committee and S3 Stable participated in one team. The competition comprised of six rounds using a javelin weapon, two individual rounds, two rings and wedge rounds, and two team system rounds.
The Royal Cavalry team managed to achieve first place with 218 points, and the Cavalry Police Command team came in Second position with 201 points. The Royal Guard of Oman team finished in third place with 195.5. At the singles competitions, the rider Hamad bin Nasser al Riyami won the first place, the rider Hamad bin Saif al Raisi from the Royal Cavalry came in second place and the rider Khalid bin Amer al Habsi from the Al Mudhaibi Equestrian Committee claimed the third place award.
At the end, the chief guest gave away the medals and trophies to the winning teams.
