AOU-Oman celebrates graduation of 3 batches

The Arab Open University-Oman has celebrated the graduation of the 8th, 9th and 10th batches which comprised 1,332 students of diploma, bachelor's and master’s degrees. The celebration was held on Thursday under the patronage of Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the AOU, and in the presence of Prof Mohammed al Zakari, President of the AOU in the Arab world.

The celebration began with a visual presentation that included an introduction about the AOU’s contributions and the vision of its founder, the late Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud, towards spreading education in the Arab world, and the university’s aspiration to be one of the leading higher educational institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. The AOU adopted an educational system, the first of its kind in the Arab world, the Open Learning system, which utilises modern technologies and digital means of communication and eliminates time and space barriers.

Speaking on the occasion, AOU Rector in Oman, Prof Mohammed bin Hamdan al Badi, referred to the university’s vision, its important achievements and research contributions, besides scientific, academic and professional partnerships with a group of local and international institutions.

Degree certificates to the graduates in Master of Education in Educational Leadership, Master of Education in Instructional Technology, Master of Business Administration and Bachelor and Diploma in Information Technology & Computing were distributed.

Prof Mohamed al Zakari congratulated the graduates and praised the noticeable role of the AOU in spreading the message of science and knowledge, pointing to the admirable achievements of the graduates.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal al Saud lauded the efforts made to keep pace with digital change in light of the changes that have occurred in the world as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. He also emphasised the issue of developing curricula and modern educational mechanisms and the work to improve educational services at the university. He commended the academic and administrative staff of the AOU in the Sultanate of Oman for their tireless work to achieve the planned goals.

“We are confident that you are going to be the leaders of the future. Reflecting the honourable image of the AOU alumni'', Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal said.

The second part of the ceremony was the graduation of the Bachelor of Business Administration. And the last part was the graduation of the students of Diploma in Business Administration, and the Bachelor's and Diploma in English Language and Literature.
