Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has urged companies to take the necessary measures to avoid the effects of high temperatures in workplaces, especially during the months of June-August.

Sheikh Nasr bin Amer al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor, speaking at the Heat Stress Forum for 2022 on Sunday spoke on the importance of mandatorily implementing the Ministry of Labor’s decision to ban work in construction sites and open spaces during the noon hours from June to August.

He praised the initiative of the Omani Association for Oil Services 'OPAL' to bring the Ministry of Labor and the private sector together through this forum.

The Labor Undersecretary said, 'The ministry will work to complete efforts to activate the heat stress campaign this year and stop work between 12:30 to 3:30 pm during the months of June, July, and August on a daily basis in the open places that can expose workers to the dangers of the hot sun.'
