Iran President to visit Oman on Monday

 
Muscat: Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a visit to the Sultanate of Oman on Monday. The visit will explore areas of cooperation between the two neighboring countries in various spheres that serve their interests and aspirations.

Ali Najafi, Iran's Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, said, 'Oman is the priority in Iran's neighborhood policy and Developing economic relations with Oman is a priority.'

Najafi said there is way more potential to expand the economic times and welcomed the Sultanate's constructive role in regional developments.

Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) last week received a business delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Alireza Peyman-Pak, Deputy Minister for Industry, Mining, and Trade.

Eng Ridha Juma al Saleh, Chairman of OCCI’s Board of Directors, said that the visit reflects the keenness of Oman and Iran to enhance relations and trade exchange.

Al Saleh added that B2B meetings between business people and representatives from the private sectors of the two countries will contribute to broadening the horizons of joint businesses and investments in lucrative sectors.

The trade exchange between the two countries, Al Saleh said, had touched $306.043 million by June 2020, of which Omani exports' contribution was $175.207 million, while Iranian imports stood at $130.836 million.

the Iranian Deputy Minister for Industry, Mining, and Trade said that the Iranian side is keen to achieve higher rates of trade exchange as his country is striving to resolve the challenges facing Omani businesspeople in Iran.
