Omani shooters strike more gold

Omani shooters continued their dominance at the third GCC Sports Games Kuwait 2022 by winning two more gold medals in Kuwait City on Friday.
Oman thus claimed their sixth gold in shooting out of their total gold tally of 11 on the fifth day at the GCC Games.
Hosts Kuwait overtook Bahrain to top medals tally with 18 gold, while Bahrain were second with 17 gold.
Oman though were on level with Qatar with 11 gold each, Qatar took the third spot by virtue of total medals of 35 compared to Oman’s 24.
At the Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, Oman edged hosts Kuwait 16-12 in a close fight in the Men's 10m Air Rifle Teams gold medal match.
Oman team consisted Issam al Balushi, Mohammed al Hajri and Salim al Naabi.
In the bronze medal match, Bahrain beat Saudi Arabia 17-13.
Oman’s second gold came in the Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Teams category.
Oman thumped Bahrain 16-8 in the gold medal match to claim their sixth gold in shooting.
The Sultanate of Oman squad included Muad al Balushi, Sultan al Hajri and Jamal al Hattali.
In the bronze medal match, Qatar outsmarted Kuwait 17-11.
In the late action on Thursday, Oman bagged a bronze in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay swimming.
At the Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammed Aquarium Complex, Oman completed the 800m distance in 8 minutes 06.28 seconds to finish third.
Hosts Kuwait won the gold in 7:52.94 and Qatar took silver in 8:01.41.
Oman relay team included Naif al Qasmi, Abdul Rahman al Kulaibi, Nidhal al Harrasi and Issa al Adawi.
