Muscat: The Oman Diabetes Association (OBA) issued a statement on video clips about advertisements promoting the so-called magic cure, which is used to treat a large number of diseases, without mentioning any detailed scientific information to support these claims.
The Oman Diabetes Association advised diabetic patients and their families to inquire about the existence of scientific evidence or laboratory results proven by official authorities or research reports that support the claims of the benefits of these substances in the treatment of diabetes and to discuss them with the treating physician before making a decision to use them. This is important to avoid any harm to the patient.
OBA urged official authorities concerned with granting licenses for such activities to establish regulations as per the scientific basis, and impose penalties on misleading information that is not based on scientific and empirical evidence.
