119 doctors graduate at OMSB

Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) celebrated the graduation of 119 doctors in 16 medical specialties, on Sunday.
The celebration was held at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the auspices of Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health and Chairman of OMSB Board of Trustees.
Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Executive President of OMSB affirmed that the training curricula of OMSB seeks to keep pace with the educational and training developments and provides an impetus for doctors to stand out in the medical profession.
Addressing the graduates, Dr Al Sabti said: “You have put in a lot of diligence and hard work during your training period and you will be faced with greater duties and responsibilities that you have to undertake in the best way. Now you are qualified to scale new heights of your career thanks to the medical training you have received at the OMSB.”
Dr Al Sabti added that as part of its strategic plan the OMSB has launched a project to align its specialties to the needs of the healthcare sector in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The OMSB has embarked on a project for upgrading the advanced medical education system which determines the path of medical education based on realistic analysis for the present and planning for the future. The OMBS has come a long way in medical training and healthcare innovation which centres on developing the Medical Simulation and Innovation Centre to become a national medical training centre and a reference for the training institutions concerned with medical simulation. The upcoming period will see a lot of learning that meets the community needs in line with Oman Vision 2040 to enhance public health, education and social empowerment.
