Oman thump Singapore 6-1 to go top of Pool B

Oman posted their third victory in the men's AHF Cup Jakarta 2022 tournament with a 6-1 triumph against Singapore to go top of Pool B on Tuesday.
Oman have nine points from three matches and are ahead of Bangladesh, who also have nine points, in goal-difference in Pool B standings.
Now, Oman have the crucial match against Bangladesh left on Thursday which will decide the group toppers.
The top two teams from the AHF Cup will join the top six Asian teams in the Men's Asia Cup 2022 to be hosted by Indonesia from May 23 to June 1, 2022 in Jakarta.
India, Pakistan, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia (as the hosts) have already qualified.
GBK Senayan Hockey Stadium Jakarta will host the Asia Cup 2022, the same venue where the 2018 Asian Games were held.
The Asian Hockey Federation allocated the hosting rights of the Hero Asia Cup 2022 to Indonesia Hockey Federation on Tuesday.
Against Singapore, Oman went in front in the fourth minute when Ammar al Shaaibi struck from a penalty corner. Rashad al Fazari put Oman 2-0 ahead from another penalty corner in the 24th minute and Fahad al Lawati made it 3-0 in the next minute after a nice move from Oman.
Rashad hit the target in the 28th minute as Oman led 4-0. Ammar converted another penalty corner in Oman's favour to make it 5-0.
Dineshraj Naidu struck a consolation goal for Singapore in the 47th minute but Aliyas al Noufali hit Oman's sixth goal from a penalty corner in the 56th minute.
On Monday, Oman had sinked hosts Indonesia 9-1.
Star striker Rashad al Fazari led the scoring with three goals (10th, 16th-PC, 51st minutes).
Ammar al Shaaibi found the target from two penalty corners (39, 53). Aulia al Ardh (17), Fahad al Lawati (22), Khalid al Shaaibi (30), Ahmed al Noufali (51-PC) and Mahmood Bait Shamaiaa (59) netted one goal each in the match dominated by Oman.

In their opening match in Pool B on March 11, Oman thumped Iran 10-2.
Rashad al Fazari netted four goals and Fahad al Lawati hit a brace, while Asama al Shibli, Ammar al Shaaibi, Ashraf al Nasseri and Asaad Mubarak al Qasmi also found the target for Oman.

Iran came back strong in the next minute as they converted a penalty corner through Navid Taherirad to equalise 1-1.
Rashad put Oman in lead in the 12th minute through a field goal.

In the same quarter, Oman struck two more goals to make it 5-1 at the half-time.
Fahad al Lawati opened his account from a penalty corner and Ammar al Shaaibi did the same three minutes later.
In the 36th minute, Iran reduced deficit when Navid hit the target again with a field goal.
Then on, it was Oman all the way as they pumped in five more goals in Iran net.
