Two Michelin star chefs to visit Salalah in March

Named the “Most influential Parisien Chef” by The New York Times in 2019, Michelin star Chef Sota Atsumi is coming to the beautiful shores of Salalah from his renowned Maison in Paris restaurant to bring his talent and demonstrate what makes him one of the world’s best, giving people of Oman the rare opportunity to sample some of the world’s finest dishes.
Hosted by Al Baleed Resort Salalah, Chef Sota will regal the country with the finest French dishes infused with Asian touches and incorporate local ingredients to the menu as he prepares a signature 6-course meal at the Mekong from March 2 to March 4, 2022.
Budding chefs or those who love to entertain will also enjoy an exclusive Live Workshop event at Sakalan. With limited seats available, Chef Atsumi will present a step-by-step demonstration of one of his signature dishes from preparation to plate.
Diners can enjoy a carefully prepared menu by the esteemed Chef at Al Mina Beach. The gentle Salalah breeze will ripple across the water as guests savour each exquisite morsel from amuse-bouche to dessert.
At the later part of the month, Michelin star Chef Rik Jansma follows with his culinary showcase.
Chef Rik Jansma heads up his kitchen at Basiliek in the Netherlands. The chef who honed his craft under luminaries such as Gerry Brokken and Jan de Wit, is celebrated for his creativity and attention to detail.
From March 23 to 25, Chef Rik will prepare a signature 6-course menu at Al Mina promising dishes that burst with freshness and flair. He will showcase the culinary masterpieces that have put his Dutch restaurant on the global culinary map.
On March 24, he will also conduct a Live Workshop where Those looking to know the secrets behind Chef Jansma’s success can watch as he prepares one dish from beginning to serving. Only 15 people can witness the Michelin-starred Chef at work, mesmerised by his finesse and dexterity.
The chef will end his visit with a 4-course menu at Al Mina Beach where he will create a special menu for guests to enjoy by the Arabian Sea focusing on fresh ingredients and his craft, a medley of deliciousness will delight each diner.
After the successful Salalah Food Festival in 2021, Oman Air, Amouage and Royal Razat Farm and CHEFS’ by Lise Timmer will partner to support these culinary events.
