Horse literature competition concludes in Al Rahba

MUSCAT: The second horse literature competition for season 2021-22 concluded at Al Rahba track in Barka on Tuesday.
The competition, organised and supervised by the Oman Equestrian Federation, witnessed the participation of 32 horses from government horse units and private stables.
The competition included four categories -- open category with the participation of 8 horses, medium category with 8 horses, the beginner section 1 with 5 horses participated and the the beginner section 2 with 11 horses.
The competition saw an increase in the number of jockeys and participating horses compared with the last edition.
The event was held without public presence, with the application of precautionary measures against Covid-19.
Open category
Eight horses participated in the open category. Salah bin Khalfan Al Balushi on (Amwag) from the Royal Oman Police claimed the top spot and Qasim al Farsi (ROP) claimed the third place on 'Sahwaa'.
Middle category
Jamal bin Humaid al Sheryani on 'Egayn' from the Royal Guard of Oman won the first place, Bassam bin Nasser al Ghabshi on 'Ragab' from the ROP finished second and the third place was claimed by Sultan bin Mohammad al Harrasi on 'Alshmoak' for the Royal Guard of Oman.
Beginner category 1
Tareq bin Ziyad al Balushi on 'Rashira' from Al Seeb Equestrian School took the first place, the second place was won by Ahlam al Shuaibi on 'Nazeal' from ROP and Fatima al Shanawiya on 'Emtethal' of ROP finished third.
Beginner category 2
In category 2, 11 horses participated and ROP's Rashid bin Amer al Mashaikhi won the first place on 'Furat', Saeed bin Humaid al Shukaili on 'Alabab' claimed the second spot and ROP's Rashid bin Amer al Mashaikhi on 'Jinan' finished third.
