Muscat: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo has urged all students studying or wishing to study in Egyptian universities to take the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation before taking admission.
In a circular issued today, the ministry said that the regulation stipulates that the equivalency of academic qualifications shall be carried out in accordance with the principles and regulations contained in the National Framework for Academic Qualifications in the Sultanate.
The decision calls for obtaining written approval from the Ministry before enrolling in any higher education institution, and the Ministry has the right not to equate any academic qualification issued by any institution that is not preceded by such approval.
The higher education institution should be among the institutions recommended for registration by the ministry when the student joins it.
Students or those wishing to complete their studies for bachelor's, a postgraduate master’s, or a doctorate in higher education institutions in Egypt must register for enrollment in one of the higher education institutions recommended by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation.
The ministry has several higher education institutions recommended for registration by the ministry in the Arab Republic of Egypt can be found through the ministry's website www.mohe.gov.om.
It stressed the need to obtain the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education before starting the study, by submitting a request to continue studying via the ministry's online system at the time specified for registration only.
After obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the embassy's approval is obtained by letter addressed to the university or the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
