Omani-Uzbek committee review cooperation

The Omani-Uzbek Joint Committee held a virtual meeting where matters of common concern were discussed, according to the Omani side of the committee.
The fourth session of the Omani-Uzbek Joint Committee was chaired by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) for Diplomatic Affairs. Shahrat Wafayov, Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade and Head of the Development and Reconstruction Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan, chaired from the Uzbek side.
The meeting reviewed cooperation between the two friendly countries and bilateral cooperation of common interest, including economic, trade, education and culture.
Speaking to the Observer, the Uzbek representative said the meeting was successful as both sides discussed bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.
Omani-Uzbek bilateral relations are deep-rooted and based on non-interference in internal affairs. .
'The relation between Oman and Uzbekistan is witnessing commendable progress, thanks to the mutual initiatives and concerns towards different regional and international issues as well as the role played by the joint committees between the two countries,' Bakhrom Umarov, Chargé d'Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Muscat told the Observer. .
