Council of Ministers extends job security benefit program

Muscat: In constant interest paid by the Council of Ministers to social protection initiatives to help Omani employees whose services have been terminated, either in the Sultanate of Oman or GCC, the Council has given nod to the following:
Extending the monthly subsidy payment for the Omani employees whose services in the sectors (civil/private military) have been terminated in the countries of the GCC from May 26, 2021, and did not join any work until the year-end of 2021 in accordance with the conditions set for those entitled to get the benefit for the first time.
Accordingly, it has been agreed to disburse the payment from the date of submitting the request until the end of June 2022.
Postponing the application of article 12 of the job security system, which stipulated that involvement in the system should be no less than 12 months to be entitled to get the benefit in November 2021.
The decision of the article will be effective from November 1, 2022.
