'Low pressure' situation to continue until January 5

Muscat: The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre said that the Sultanate of Oman will continue to be affected by a trough of low pressure, which will last until January 5.
The weather is expected to be cloudy over the governorates of Musandam, North al Batinah, South al Batinah, Muscat, Al Buraimi, Al Dahirah, A- Dakhliyah, South Sharqiyah, and North al Sharqiya with chances of rain occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh winds, flash floods, hail, and wadis.
Chances of thundershowers concentrate over Governorates of Musandam, North al Batinah, and Al Hajar mountains during the coming two days. While the
weather will be partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated rain over the rest of the Sultanate of Oman Governorates.
Moderate sea condition along most of the Sultanate coasts with a maximum wave height of 2m meters becoming rough during thundershowers along with the coastal areas of
Musandam Governorate and Oman Sea coasts with a maximum wave height of 3 meters.
For Saturday
Heavy thundershowers and rains are expected in the coming hours which can reach up to 30-80 mm in the Governorates of Musandam, North al Batinah, Buraimi, Al Dhahriah, Al Dhakhliyah, and South al Batinah.
According to official statistics, Seeb received 102 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours.
The thundershowers will be accompanied by fresh downdraft winds, hail precipitation, and the flow of some wadis (flash floods).
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has advised all to take precautions during rainfall and flash floods, check the sea state report before sailing and keep monitoring the weather bulletins.
The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) confirmed that they found the body of the second missing person after a vehicle washed away in Wadi Surur in the Wilayat of Samail on Friday.
The body of the first of the two missing people was found earlier on Saturday morning.
