Workshop on theater laboratory concludes

The theatrical laboratory, which was organized by the theater group of the Student Services Center, was concluded in Nizwa Hall Theatre, College of Technology and Applied Sciences, Nizwa. The closing ceremony was under the auspices of Dr Mohammad bin Juma al Kharusi, dean of the college.
The theatrical laboratory is held for students of the theater group. It includes workshops and theatrical performances. It aims to enhance students' abilities and skills in understanding theatre in terms of: acting, directing and playwriting, and makeup. It also aims to discover new talents in the theatre field.
Abdullah al Hadrami, Head of Student Activities Department, said: 'Through implementing the theatrical laboratory, we would like to nurture student abilities and talents after their interruption due to the pandemic. Also, discover the capabilities of new students in the theatrical field and introduce the concept of theatre.'
The theatre laboratory was launched with three different training workshops in the theatrical field. The first workshop “Acting and Directing' presented by Qassem al Riyami, actor and theatre director, which was for three consecutive days. The second workshop, 'Cinematic Makeup', was presented by Ibrahim al Jassassi. Hayan al Lamki, a member of the Alden Theatre Troupe, presented the third workshop entitled 'The Basics of Theater and Theatrical'.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr Al Kharusi honoured the presenters and participants of the workshops. He praised the role of theater in raising awareness and sending a purposeful and sublime message, in an attractive way to the public.
