OOC General Assembly to elect two athletes today

Muscat: Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) will today hold the meeting of the Ordinary General Assembly at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Al Irfan City to select two athletes from among the applicants for the announcement issued by OOC to fill two seats in the General Assembly for the upcoming electoral phase (2020+1-2024).

During the meeting, the previous minutes of the Ordinary General Assembly held on April 22 will be ratified, after which the sports personalities who submitted their papers for membership in the general assembly will be selected: Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Zubair, Farid bin Khamis Al-Zadjali, Qais bin Saud Al-Zakwani, and Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Omar Al-Marhoon, Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Farsi, Muhammad bin Khalfan Al-Asimi, Hilal bin Ali Al-Sinani, Khalid bin Saeedi Al-Wahaibi, Obaid bin Zayed Al-Manuri, Salem bin Abdullah Al-Masrouri, Badr bin Ali Al-Rawas, and Al-Mu’tasim bin Hammoud Al-Zadjali, provided that two sports personalities meet the conditions and controls approved by the General Assembly to fill the two seats of this category in the formation of the next General Assembly.

The members of the General Assembly will be presented with a proposal to form the Elections and Appeals Committees that will be tasked with supervising the process of electing OOC Board of Directors for the upcoming election phase (2020+1-2024), which will include legal persons and specialists in the field of sports.

According to what is stated in Article No. (17) of OOC statute, the members of the association will be presented with the date of the meeting of the electoral general assembly for the next phase (2020+1-2024).
