Coinciding with the Sultanate of Oman’s celebrations of the 51 Glorious National Day, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate organised an exhibition for entrepreneurs in Nizwa Grand Mall, which will continue until November 27.

The exhibition was under the auspices of Shaikh Saud bin Saif bin Mohammad al Maawali, Deputy Wali of Nizwa. More than 30 small and medium enterprises, craftspeople and entrepreneurship centers affiliated to the authority participated in the exhibition.

Abdullah bin Suleiman al Shukaili, Head of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, said the authority’s interest in holding these exhibitions is aimed at highlighting the services and products provided by entrepreneurs and craftsmen. These include start-ups, projects of productive families, and various craft projects, such as the textile and pottery industry, distilled water and various plant based oils. He also added that these exhibitions enhance the principle of partnership between entrepreneurs and society.

The exhibition featured perfumes and incense products, food products, paints, silverware, clothes, spices, utensils, oils, beauty products, flower arrangements and others.

Abdullah bin Salim al Salmi, owner of the Abu Zakaria al Salmi Trading Establishment, participated in the exhibition. He specializes in selling olive oil, sumac, thyme, tahini and a range of plastic and food products. Abdullah imports products from Jordan and packs them in Oman.

Another participant Firas al Rabani sells products of Saudi- based Al Jazeera Paints Company including paints, water and thermal insulators, and natural and decorative home paintings. It has 17 branches and there is a branch under construction in Nizwa.

Azza al Mahrouqi, a participant in the exhibition, said: 'I have skin care products, essential oils and oils for treatment. I manufacture these products myself. I have been participating in international exhibitions to sell my products for more than 20 years. I used to sell these products in my own salon. I closed the salon because of the corona pandemic. This exhibition is a very big opportunity to market my products and my business.'
