Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s National Day is an opportunity for the people to express gratitude to the nation and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik by organizing events and activities befitting the day. The nation has already slipped into celebration mode for the 51st National Day. Everyone has his own way of celebrating it.
The Capital City Muscat is decorated with all shades of national symbols, where Omnai flag, Khanjar, and His Majesty the Sultan’s pictures are prominently on display.
Some bike lovers are seen taking out bikes decorated with national colors while receiving cheers from motorists and pedestrians. The nationals are showcasing their national pride, while the expatriates are also part of the celebration for their peaceful living in the country, which is also a second home for them.
The country is witnessing some tourists these days after the opening up of airports and ease in travel restrictions. Amid the fun of being in Oman and enjoying the country's true nature, the tourists are getting the surprise of National Day preparations, which is adding value to their journey to a Middle Eastern destination.
Most of them have a chance to be part of the festivity and experience the joyous mood everywhere as something, or the other is scheduled to happen in every aspect of the country.
“We didn’t know that we are coming during Oman’s National Day week. We are surprised by the decorations and special treatment in hotels and restaurants. Everyone looks happy as National Day is approaching. We could witness the citizens’ sense of pride for the nation and the national symbols. The expatriates living in the country are equally grateful to the nation and its ruler,” said Erika, who has come from the Czech Republic as a tourist.
