Oman national sporting teams to participate in three major events in 2022

The Sultanate of Oman national sporting teams will attend three major sporting championship in 2022. The number of the domestic sporting teams which will represent the Sultanate of Oman in these external championships will be after gaining an approval from the planning and follow up committee at the Oman Olympic Committee (OOC).
The committee will receive the preparatory plans of the national teams ahead of the event. Then, the committee will review the warm up plans to ensure the attendance of the teams should meet the minimum criteria for an effective presence in the major abroad events.
The first participation will be at the GCC Sports Games in Kuwait which will take place during January 9 to 19 in Kuwait city. The championship will feature the following sports including football, handball, volleyball, basketball, swimming, athletics, karate, judo, fencing, shooting, tennis, cycling, ice hockey, table tennis, and e-Sports.
The following event will be the 5th edition of 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games which is scheduled to be held from 9 to 18 August 2022 at Konya city in Turkey under the aegis of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF).
It will be the first time in history that the event will be organised by the Turkish Olympic Committee. The Islamic Solidarity Games will witness many sporting including: Diving, Swimming, Archery, Athletics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Shooting, Fencing, Judo, Karate, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Wrestling , Basketball, Field hockey, Football, Handball, Volleyball, Table tennis, Tennis and Weightlifting.
The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 is the next major event for the sporting national teams. The 2022 Asian Games will take place during September 10 to 25.
The fourth event is Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) in Thailand which will be postponed to 2023 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The previous duration of the championship is supposed to take place during from 10th to 19th March 2022 but the newly dates are pushed to November 17 and 26 in 2023.
The Sultanate of Oman national sporting teams will look for a good show in the above mentioned championships. All the national athletes who will attend in the events will eye for raising the flag of the Sultanate of Oman high and being in the podium.
