Syrian delegation visits Ad Dakhliyah health facilities

The visiting Syrian health delegation on Tuesday visited Ad Dakhliyah Governorate to understand the Sultanate of Oman’s developments in the health sector.

They visited Nizwa referral hospital. The delegation visited health facilities including the Accidents and Emergency department and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The delegation also saw the new expansions of the hospital and appreciated the hospital’s modern techniques and capacities in providing quality health services to the governorate’s and neighboring governorate’s population.

The delegation also visited the ‘Nizwa healthy lifestyles project’ (Health City in Nizwa ), a community-based health-promoting project.

The project is led by the Ministry of Health with the partnership of Sultanate of Oman’s multi-stakeholders and WHO.

The delegation was briefed on the project’s phases and facilities that contain various clinics including smoking cessation and weight control clinics. Mechanism of training volunteers in the health cities was also explained to the delegation.

The delegation also visited Nizwa Fort, Nizwa Souq and was updated about the historical aspects of the two sites.

It is worth to mention that the accompanying delegation visited yesterday (Monday) the COVID-19 Immunization Center at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre. The delegation have been briefed on the whole procedures of immunization process for targeted groups within the National Immunization COVID-19 Campaign with implementing the precautionary measures.
