Steep rise in transactions processed through Invest Easy

The number of transactions processed by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) through the ‘Invest Easy’ electronic portal during the second quarter of 2021 totalled 166,775, representing a 421 per cent over the corresponding figure for 2020.
This increase reflects growing usage of the portal by investors to conduct their transactions. The Directorate of Information, Data and Statistics at the Ministry said the number of transactions completed through the front offices of the ministry during Q2 2021 totaled 12,581, compared to 750 transactions for the same period of 2020.
Transactions handled by the departments and directorates of the Ministry reached 48,519 in Q2, compared to 878 in Q2 2020.
Meanwhile, the free zones at Suhar and Al Mazyona and the SEZ at Duqm handled a total of 1417 transactions this year, compared to 119 transactions during the same period of last year. Sanad offices handled 70,303 transactions versus 13,240 last year.
