The Rural Areas Electricity Company (Tanweer), member of Nama Group, is redoubling its efforts to empower Omani small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the framework of the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and various public sector stakeholder organisations.

To this end, Tanweer launched a series of dialogue sessions with entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs - Riyada) based in its concession areas. These dialogues aim to bring Tanweer and SMEs closer, enhance cooperation, clarify the mechanisms for benefiting from the contracts offered by Tanweer, and register new vendors through the central supplier portal.

The first session was held in the Governorate of Dhofar where Tanweer organised a 3-day event at its regional office. The sessions will continue in other governorates, including Musandam and Al Wusta.

The company’s efforts to expand its in-country value (ICV) footprint via SMEs in light of the recent directives of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) to limit contracts with a value not exceeding RO 10,000 to SMEs.
