The number of people vaccinated against Covid-19 has increased to 1,096,838, representing 30 per cent of the targeted figure which is 3.7 million, according to latest statistics by the Ministry of Health.
It showed that 78 per cent of the vaccinated people received one dose, while 22 per cent received two doses of various vaccines.
The ministry seeks to cover the target group (above 12 years), who represent 70% of the population, according to the quantities of the available vaccine.
On Sunday, the mass immunization drive entered a new phase as it included youngsters (18 and above). This comes as the new variants of Covid-19 proved to be affecting younger people, including children.
The ministry called on the target group to book vaccine appointments in advance through Tarassud+ mobile application or through covid19.moh.gov.om before heading to the approved government centers for immunisation in order to ensure a safe national vaccination drive.
