Power supply partially restored in Dhofar

The Dhofar Integrated Services Company (DISC) has said that the company has started to restore the power supply to the affected areas.

'The company is working on restoring the service For the rest of the regions in coordination with Oman Electricity Transmission Company,' said Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) said in a statement.

Earlier, DISC reported an interruption in the main network feeding the Governorate. 'The emergency teams of engineers and technicians are taking the necessary action,' the statement said.

Local residents in Salalah told the Observer that the power outage started around 1pm on Tuesday with chaos at traffic junctions as the traffic lights are not working currently in several areas.

APSR said that preliminary data indicated that the reasons for the outage is the interruption in the gas supply to power generation station.

DISC said it is necessary to contact the toll-free number 80077700 in the event of cases of illness in homes that depend on devices that require the operation of electric current to provide them with immediate assistance.
