Temperature likely to soar in Oman: Met Office

Muscat: The Oman Meteorology Office on Sunday warned temperature across the Sultanate is expected to rise further in the coming days.
'A noticeable rise in temperatures, as the maximum temperatures are expected to reach the late forties and early fifties in desert areas due to the activity of northwest winds starting today and for the next two days. It may also cause dust to rise in the desert and open areas.' Met Office said.
'Clear to partly cloudy skies along the coastal area of Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains with intermittent drizzle. Mainly clear skies and rise in the temperature over rest of the Sultanate with a chance of convective clouds development and isolated rain over Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining area towards the afternoon. Chance of late night to early morning low-level clouds along parts of Arabian Sea coasts,' forecast from the Met Office said.
Haima likely to experience temperature around 48 degrees Celcius.
Weathermen also alerted Al Dakhiliyah Governorate is likely to receive rains with thunderstorms of varying intensities.
