Royal Hospital continues to operate despite challenges of pandemic

MUSCAT: Despite the severe pressure on intensive care beds, the Royal Hospital (RH) continues to operate at the level of outpatient clinics, operations, oncology treatments, catheters and others, at a rate of 90 per cent.

Dr Muhanna bin Nasser al Muselhi, Assistant Director-General of the Royal Hospital, said, 'In April, the total number of visits to the hospital's outpatient clinics was 13,343, and to the day clinic unit was 1,308, the virtual clinics 5,575 visits, while the number of operations was 1,309.

Al Muselhi added that the number of patients who received medical care in the oncology department, inpatients and outpatient clinics stood at 2,028 patients, in hematology and pediatric oncology 513 patients, while the number in the radiation treatment department reached 1445 patients.
